Video: An Absolute Must in Business & in Life
For the fast few months, we have learned to pivot and work in ways that we have never imagined. We have even had to pivot the ways that we communicate with basically anyone outside of our home. It’s been a drastic change for sure! We’ve had to adapt to work from home, learn from home and keep in touch while staying at home. And what is making this all possible? Technology and video tools.
You know it’s no secret that video has not been my favorite thing to do. Heck, I’ve even avoided it for years thinking that it wasn’t necessary in my business, but I was so wrong! I’ve started to face my fears around video at the beginning of this year. I’ll admit, it was awkward at first, but the more I did it, the easier it became. And in March, it had become my main method of communicating with clients, getting clients, marketing myself, communicating with other business owners and friends and family. Being that the world was quarantined, it became pretty much everyone’s main method of communication. And I wasn’t alone in my fears. Most of the people that I was speaking with were uncomfortable with video so I was often sharing my tips on how I overcame my fear. As I overcame my fear and just starting doing more video, it has really impacted my business in a great way. I was even approached by a website building business in the UK and asked to be interviewed about how to be more comfortable on video so that they could share it with their clients.
If you are a business owner or just someone who is trying to build your own brand and you’re still putting off video, then I urge you to step out of your comfort zone and just start making them. They can be short, they don’t have to be the highest quality, but it will help you connect with your audience and let them get to know you a little more.
And if you need some tips, here is my interview with Ready Steady Websites to help you.
