What to Wear During Quarantine

Are you stuck in a rut? And by that I mean, are you stuck in a sweat and yoga pants, haven't put on real pants in weeks kind of rut? I get it. It's a rough and super weird time, but you still need to work, you still need to be productive, you still need to do all fo the things that you need to do! You're wearing more hat’s than normal and you're needing to take care of the people around you, but now is not the time to put yourself on the back burner.

You’ve heard me say it before, but getting dressed really does make a difference in the productivity of your day. Sure, sweats and yoga pants are fine. I mean I do allow myself to wear them on Sundays when I’m home lounging, but that’s it. The rest of the week I get dressed, put on makeup, do my hair, even throw on some jewelry, so yes the whole 9! Allowing yourself to relax and take a day off from all of that is great, heathy even. You need down time to recharge, but you also need to get dressed to shift your mindset to be more productive. And just to make getting out of your sweats and into regular clothes a little more easier, I went ahead and put together some great work/teach/stay at home outfits that require very little effort on your part.

Jeans and a basic sweater - Add a basic oversized turtleneck or V neck sweater in a neutral color over a pair of distressed jeans and you’re ready for video calls, Zoom meetings with teachers and quarantined selfies with the family. Bonus - add a fun animal print sneaker, loafer or slipper to complete your look.

A White Tee and Jeans - Who doesn’t love a classic white tee and blue jeans? This is such an easy look for working at home, but the white may not be so kind on a video call. If you have to hop on a call, throw a jewel tone or dark neutral cardigan over to brighten your complexion. You’ll look pulled together in now time! And swap the heels for a tan or cream bootie, sneakers or even slippers for a cozy work from home look.

A paper bag pant and a tee - This is one of my favorite casual looks because the paper bag pant is so flattering! The gather and belt at the waist are very slimming and paired with a basic tee, just looks cool and easy! Pair it with some sneakers or sandals for perfectly casual look in or out of the home.

Joggers and a flowy top - Another one of my favorite looks. I am a huge fan of joggers. Some may argue that it’s a sweat, but it’s not. They are so much more than loungewear! They are super versatile. You can dress them up or dress them down. They look great with sneakers, booties, heels and slippers making them the perfect pant to own and transition from quarantine back into our new normal when we’re able to.

So dressing for your day is quarantine doesn’t require too much time, just a little effort and I promise you that you will notice your mindset will shift, your attitude will be better and you’ll be more productive all around.

Are you lacking some of these wardrobe alternatives to your sweats and yoga pants? Don’t worry! I got you covered! I’ve already preshopped for you so you can just check out some great options to keep in mind if you’re looking to build your casual and quarantined wardrobe.
